Job Overview:

We are looking for a committed and empathetic Deputy Manager to become part of a dynamic team within a Children's Residential Care setting.

The Deputy Manager will collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to effectively co-manage the home's budget, oversee staff development, and support the growth of the young residents. Responsibilities include formulating and updating individual placement plans, conducting risk assessments, and implementing positive handling strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership to guide and support the staff team in delivering personalized childcare aimed at achieving optimal outcomes for each young person.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation governing Children's Homes.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, The Quality Care Standards, and the SCCIF, ensuring that any recommendations from inspections are promptly addressed to enhance service quality.
  • Guarantee that the staff team adheres to safeguarding policies and local authority procedures to protect the welfare of young residents.
  • Ensure that each young person receives a tailored residential service that respects their unique social, cultural, psychological, educational, and health care needs.

Compensation:

Salary: £36,270, with potential for increase following successful completion of the probationary period.

Working Hours: Contracted for 46.5 hours per week, including three office days and one 24-hour shift, totaling 201.5 hours monthly. The Deputy Manager will also participate in the emergency on-call rota.


Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Level 4 diploma in Children's and Young People Workforce or an equivalent qualification.
  • Working towards or completed Level 5 diploma in Children's and Young People Workforce.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Valid UK driving license.
