We are actively searching for a Culinary Specialist to join our essential team.

  • Annual remuneration of £30,000 - equated pay
  • Full-time – 40 hours per week – 5 over 7
  • Part-time hours available – 5 over 7
  • Casual contracts also offered - work as needed
  • 48 working weeks - 2 weeks off during festive periods and some time off during school breaks

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking meals for students during breakfast, lunch, and dinner in either a small hub kitchen or a boarding house kitchen.
  • Assisting with food procurement
  • Ensuring all food complies with allergen regulations and relevant laws.
  • Utilizing recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a diverse range of meals
  • Completing daily documentation to ensure compliance
  • Helping with deliveries and inventory checks / placing orders
  • Maintaining kitchen records and placing food orders
  • Collaborating with the Chef Manager/Catering Manager to verify, probe, and sign off on all food deliveries
  • Monitoring and recording temperatures of refrigeration units, freezers, hot cabinets, and serving areas.
  • Participating in daily and weekly kitchen sanitation procedures
  • Possessing comprehensive knowledge of all menu items offered
  • Engaging in relevant training as necessary

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant culinary certification
  • Prior experience in a comparable role
  • Allergen awareness training
  • Strong team player and communicator
  • Confident culinary skills
  • DBS check required
  • Full clean driving license
