Your Role...

As a Planning Executive within our Programming team, you will play a crucial role in the forward planning and scheduling of our designated channels. Collaborating closely with the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing channel schedules to enhance revenue and audience engagement.

Your expertise will be vital in understanding our programming inventory, target demographics, and competitive landscape. You will also contribute to strategies that attract and retain viewers, particularly focusing on genres that resonate with our audience.

In addition, you may be called upon to support the Planning Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity in scheduling strategies and addressing logistical considerations. Your insights will help shape our scheduling and windowing approaches, and you will be encouraged to propose innovative ideas that elevate our content offerings.

Key Responsibilities...

Collaborate with the Planning Manager to devise effective scheduling strategies for your assigned channels, ensuring a cohesive approach across the portfolio. Develop and execute forward plans that maximize performance and align with brand objectives. Analyze programming and apply editorial judgment to enhance content delivery. Monitor channel performance and propose initiatives to maintain a competitive edge. Work with the Insights team to deepen your understanding of audience behavior and competitive dynamics. Identify opportunities for leveraging our content archive through strategic partnerships and promotions. Coordinate with the Discovery+ Planning Executive to maintain an accurate forward plan. Stay informed about programming initiatives across the organization. Maintain comprehensive lists of available programming stock. Ensure adherence to best practices in scheduling and content distribution. Keep abreast of competitor schedules and industry trends to inform planning decisions.

Qualifications & Skills...

Experience in programming and scheduling, with familiarity in relevant software systems preferred. Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Analytical mindset coupled with creative problem-solving abilities. Confidence and assertiveness in addressing challenges and proposing solutions. Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. In-depth understanding of audience research and data analytics. A genuine enthusiasm for television and content strategy, particularly in non-scripted programming.
