Lead Cost Estimator

We are seeking a Lead Cost Estimator to become a vital member of our project team.
Location: London - remote working options available, with occasional office visits required.
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead Cost Estimator, you will collaborate with the project team to ensure the successful delivery of a high-value scheme.
Your daily responsibilities will encompass:
- Adhering to and enforcing Kier's policies and procedures for commercial governance.
- Maximizing the anticipated gross margin on the project while supporting the attainment of the project's financial targets.
- Engaging contractors and subcontractors and placing orders for materials and equipment within authorized limits.
- Negotiating and finalizing project managers' contract variations with clients and suppliers within delegated authority.
- Assessing the progress and value of work with clients and suppliers, leading and motivating the commercial team, and ensuring a collaborative relationship between project and surveying functions.
Qualifications and Skills:
This position is ideal for candidates who possess:
- Strong communication skills with experience in effectively engaging multidisciplinary teams, client representatives, subcontractors, and the broader supply chain.
- Relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying preferred) and eligibility for Security Clearance.
- Experience in a similar capacity, preferably with custodial-related projects. Familiarity with NEC contracts is advantageous.
- Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative.
- Proficiency in various IT applications, including Microsoft Office and specialized software, with experience in managing substantial Change Processes and systematic Change management.
