We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a well-established life sciences organisation in the Edinburgh area. As a key member of our in-house engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a timely and efficient manner across various buildings, including offices, laboratories, and research facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties as a Maintenance Engineer will include:
- Performing pre-planned maintenance on Steam Boiler Plant & services, Heating & Ventilation services, Compressed Air systems, Water systems, and Building Services.
- Carrying out repairs to the above systems in a safe and timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to work.
- Maintaining accurate records of work done and time taken to track plant/equipment history.
- Providing technical support as the 'First Responder' when scientific equipment malfunctions.
- Liaising with users to schedule work and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Generating Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures as required.
- Participating in an on-call rota with other engineers to provide 24/7 cover to the park.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant SVQ or City Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline.
- At least 2 years' experience working in a maintenance environment, with a focus on heating and ventilation systems, PPM maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Ability to work a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional on-call shifts and overtime for call-outs.
