Project Civil Engineer - Infrastructure

Vertical Recruitment Limited is collaborating with a prominent civil and structural engineering consultancy that specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering design services across various sectors, both domestically and internationally.

Role Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of civil engineering and infrastructure designs within a dynamic office environment.

Under the guidance of a Civil Engineering Associate or Principal Engineer, the Project Civil Engineer will be tasked with:

  • Producing and managing essential information for clients and the co-professional design team.
  • Engaging in collaborative efforts with team members and reporting on Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects spanning residential, retail, commercial, and industrial domains.
Key Duties
  • Designing surface water drainage systems in accordance with SuDS principles.
  • Creating foul water drainage solutions, including considerations for pumping stations and treatment facilities.
  • Formulating flood risk and surface water management strategies, along with preparing necessary assessments and reports for planning submissions.
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders, overseeing subcontractors for surveys and flood modeling, and conducting site evaluations and risk assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in Civil 3D and InfoDrainageTM.
  • A strong understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines, including the Manual for Streets and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing civil engineering solutions for highways and drainage systems.
  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of professional risks and compliance requirements.
Educational Background

Applicants should have:

  • Level 4, 5, or 6 Apprenticeship qualifications or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related fields.
  • An accredited BEng or MEng Civil Engineering Degree.
Professional Development
