Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Propulsion Test Engineer to join our team at FMC Talent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering and a passion for developing new skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the set-up and delivery of powertrain testing projects for key clients. This will involve working on combustion engines and transmissions, as well as opportunities to work on hybrid systems and electric propulsion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement test systems for powertrain testing
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical rigging, fitting, and operating test systems
  • Support propulsion test programmes and resolve customer complaints
  • Recommend and coordinate corrective actions to resolve issues
  • Identify problems and faults as they arise and implement solutions

Requirements

  • Vocational qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Extensive experience in powertrain or vehicle component fitting
  • Practical knowledge of vehicle systems and AC and DC electrical systems
  • Adaptable and comfortable working autonomously
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety protocols
