BAM Construct is seeking a Senior Planner to join our dynamic construction division.

While our main office is located in Solihull, the role will require travel to various project sites and offices across the region.

Your Responsibilities


• Develop design, procurement, and construction schedules utilizing Elecosoft Powerproject for pre-qualifications, tenders, and ongoing projects.

• Determine suitable methodologies and sequences for project execution.

• Assess sites and surrounding environments to devise effective logistics strategies and resource allocations.

• Employ specialized planning software, including Synchro or similar tools.

• Create logistics plans and phasing diagrams, with proficiency in PowerPoint; 3D modeling skills are advantageous but not mandatory.

• Draft method statements.

• Schedule workforce, select major equipment, and prepare scaffold and tower crane utilization plans.

• Participate in client interviews and present project plans.

• Formulate detailed working schedules.

• Coordinate subcontractor schedules.

• Monitor project progress during pre-construction and construction phases, comparing it with the planned timeline.

• Report findings and propose solutions to address delays.

• Document relevant occurrences for potential claims.

• Utilize graphical and scheduling tools to illustrate progress, impacts, and forecasts.

• Collaborate with the Project Team, adjusting plans as necessary.

• Provide guidance on developing specific operational systems.

• Prepare feedback reports on projects and activities.

• Contribute to enhancing the company's planning methodologies and practices.

• Coordinate with trade contractors' schedules on-site.

• Mentor junior planning staff and promote planning awareness among site teams.

Qualifications


• Relevant training and knowledge in Health and Safety (e.g., CSCS, SMSTS).

• A proactive, energetic, and self-motivated individual with experience in a similar capacity.

• Proven track record in contract and tender planning, demonstrating leadership in project scheduling and time management.

• Experience in delivering projects across various market sectors, with a solid understanding of high-quality finishes and M&E interfaces.

• Familiarity with JCT and NEC forms of contract in tendering and contract administration.

• Knowledge of best practices in planning.

• Ideally degree-qualified, with a minimum of HNC or HND level education.

• Proficient in Powerproject, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word; experience with SketchUp and Synchro is a plus.

• Knowledge of MS Project and Primavera P6 is preferred but not essential.

• Experience in 3D/4D modeling is advantageous but not required.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.

• Solid understanding of construction techniques, sequencing, and methodologies.
