About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Insurance and Money Services team at Tesco Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development, delivery, and optimization of data assets across our data lifecycle and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside colleagues within Insurance Money Services to deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Be hands-on with the development of Database Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Database development, ETL, and Batch on our core Insurance Platform.
  • Ensure reliable system operations using implementation of telemetry, monitoring, and response for live services.
  • Maintain and work against medium to long-term plans to improve automated Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Support and develop the capability of engineers across the Data Practice to create positive outcomes for end users.
  • Improve quality, feedback loops, and boost productivity across teams in Agile Value Stream.
  • Contribute to embedding an agile mindset and approach focused on improving outcomes.

Requirements

  • Oracle and/or PostgreSQL development experience.
  • CI/CD experience, Jenkins or similar.
  • Python or similar scripting language.
  • AWS (preferably) or Azure/GCP.
