Behaviour Support Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students exhibiting challenging behaviours within an educational environment.
  • Assist educators in the application of behaviour management techniques.
  • Track and document student behaviour and developmental progress.
  • Provide individualized support to students as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with educational professionals and families to address behavioural issues.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Prior experience working with children or young adults.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management strategies.
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in a comparable role within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Effective organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certification.
  • Training in Positive Behaviour Support methodologies.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily based in a school setting.
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviours.
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Temporary role with potential for extension.

All quoted pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
