About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee to join our European Leveraged Syndicate team at Societe Generale.

Leveraged Syndicate Overview

The Leveraged Syndicate team is responsible for the pricing, underwriting, and syndication of leveraged loans and high-yield bonds across the EMEA region.

The team works closely with origination business lines, including Private Equity-backed deals and non-investment grade corporates, as well as partnering with the leveraged syndicate team in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior members of the team in underwriting, structuring, and executing Societe Generale's leveraged transactions in EMEA.
  • Provide support on both analytical and presentational work, producing reliable and accurate market data and comparable analysis.
  • Assist senior colleagues in promoting integrated financing solutions via the preparation of materials for the Leveraged Capital Markets teams.
  • Help prepare presentations and assist in the creation of syndication and road-show materials.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a good basic knowledge of and interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and related geopolitical events.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent level of written and verbal English - additional languages are advantageous but not essential.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn new skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills, with the ability to be adaptable and flexible and work well as part of a diverse team in a busy office environment.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
