About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. As a key member of our Specialist Care Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, family-centered palliative care to babies, children, and young people with life-threatening and/or life-limiting conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate clinical and holistic care to babies, children, and young people in our care, working in our Woodlands inpatient unit, families' homes, and in the community.
  • Deliver the highest quality family-centered palliative care, ensuring the clinical needs of our patients are met.
  • Work collaboratively with families, internal and external multidisciplinary teams, and colleagues to provide comprehensive care.
  • Safeguard all children and young people accessing our services, responding to concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Enjoy creating experiences, activities, and play for those in your care, working with your team to ensure their clinical needs are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of a formal qualification (NVQ or Care Certificate) or willingness to complete.
  • Competent skills in caring for babies, children, and young people in a professional setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone and use initiative to respond assertively.
  • Flexible attitude and approach to the changing work environment.
  • Mature approach to personal and professional boundary setting with children, young people, and their families.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care, and compassion at all times.
  • Proven track record of reliability.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the children, young people, and families.
