About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Mechanical HVAQ Team, you will be responsible for developing functional engineering solutions that meet complex cross-functional interactions and requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement engineering solutions that meet the challenging demands of our products.
  2. Engage with suppliers to develop and capture equipment and component specifications.
  3. Work with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios and design considerations.
  4. Perform and review engineering calculations and analysis to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance.
  5. Develop design evidence to justify safe and effective designs and generate customer confidence.
  6. Coordinate and manage stakeholders to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible decisions.

Requirements
  1. Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science Subjects, with a focus on Chartership.
  2. Experience with HVAC or Cooling Systems, with a strong understanding of fluid flows and heat transfer.
  3. Experience in the design and development of Mechanical Systems, ideally within Defence or Marine Engineering sectors.
  4. Strong design documentation skills, with the ability to present to customers and stakeholders.
  5. Proficiency in CAD software, FEA, Matlab, Flomaster, and other relevant engineering tools.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
