About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ESG Data Analyst to join our Group Sustainability Reporting team at M&G plc. As an international savings and investments business, we offer a range of financial products and services through Asset Management, Life and Wealth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group ESG Reporting Manager in the production of external sustainability reporting
  • Collaborate with internal team members to collate and consolidate data on material sustainability themes
  • Work with subject matter experts to design metrics for inclusion in external reporting
  • Maintain and update Python scripts to produce key sustainability metrics
  • Analyze data to provide key trends and insights in clear reports
  • Work with assurance providers to ensure smooth review of sustainability metrics
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in ESG disclosure space to ensure disclosures align with latest requirements

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of sustainability matters in financial services, including reporting frameworks and metrics
  • Knowledge of savings & investment products, markets, and competitors
  • Working knowledge of data management frameworks and database systems
  • Some knowledge of industry trends, best practice, and developments in ESG
  • Good networks with external bodies and individuals in the same field

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization
  • Advanced Python proficiency and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Ability to communicate effectively on material ESG issues
  • Detail-oriented and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong track record for delivery
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in regulated financial services environment with a sustainable data management background
  • Experience in analyzing sustainability data
  • Experience of ensuring business alignment with key sustainability measurement frameworks
  • Experience of reporting against regulatory and voluntary frameworks
  • Experience of identifying areas for improvement in data management processes
