Job Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Officer to join our team at RBS International. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring client queries are responded to promptly and providing UK and EU regulatory guidance.

As a Data Management Officer, you will maintain accurate scheme and security data used to provide a full compliance and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) monitoring oversight programme for all clients in accordance with investment and borrowing restrictions imposed by the FCA.

You will use data-led insights to support compliance monitoring and data management governance standards across our Depositary and Funds business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring scheme assets to ensure compliance with relevant FCA Collective Investment Scheme regulations, ESG specific criteria, and any other restrictions stipulated within scheme documentation.
  • Undertaking extensive research of underlying security holdings and collating information from varying data sources.
  • Interpreting and writing compliance rules within the compliance systems.
  • Making sure scheme holdings are eligible in accordance with FCA rules and Eligible Assets Directives.
  • Conducting daily and periodic reviews of static data in relation to scheme information and security data.
  • Responding promptly to client queries and providing regulatory guidance when needed.
  • Researching the suitability of potential eligible assets in accordance with rules and providing full regulatory reports to clients.

Requirements

  • A sound technical understanding of security products and markets.
  • Knowledge of the UK and EU regulatory framework in relation to collective investment schemes.
  • The ability to fully participate as part of an effective team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of compliance monitoring systems.
  • The ability to interpret and write compliance rules.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to understand complex trading strategies and the use of different instruments, and provide input on their classification and appropriateness within regulations.
