Maintenance Technician: Semi Skilled

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician: Semi Skilled to join our Estates & Campus Services team at the University of Stirling. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our University Estate.
Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician: Semi Skilled will be responsible for undertaking semi-skilled duties associated with building fabric, external works, and building services maintenance, repair, and installation works. This will include filter cleaning/replacement, fuel deliveries, meter readings, water temperature checks, RCD testing, slabbing works, excavations, and basic joinery duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake semi-skilled duties associated with building fabric, external works, and building services maintenance, repair, and installation works.
- Respond quickly to priority tasks, undertaking fault diagnosis and repair ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard in a timely manner.
- Carry out minor painting/ames taping/plastering duties as required.
- Assist in minor project works.
- Undertake any duties as necessary to support key University events.
- Ensure maintenance stores are maintained accurately and effectively.
- Ensure that the workshops and work areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards at all times.
- Ensure that all work carried out complies with relevant risk assessments, safety legislation, University safety policies and procedures, and all applicable regulations.
- Highly motivated and forward-looking individual with extensive knowledge and experience of working within a dynamic and fast-paced maintenance and repairs environment.
- Strong focus on customer service delivery, aiming to exceed expectations and deliver a positive customer experience.
- Good written skills, including the ability to produce written reports.
- Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to work well as part of a team or on own initiative.
- Understanding of personal and team responsibility under Health & Safety legislation and undertaking risk assessments for daily tasks.
- Good understanding of all building fabric/services related trades with the ability to quickly develop and learn new skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible and positive approach, finding innovative solutions to challenges.
- Recognised working safely training.
