Childcare Lawyer - Litigation Expert

£40,000 - £45,441

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be recruiting for a childcare lawyer to join a local authority in Yorkshire on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation expert looking to transfer into childcare law.


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team with a wealth of experience in family law. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Holding a caseload of care cases and pre-proceedings
  • Advising clients on child protection, care proceedings, special guardianship, private law proceedings, fostering legislation, and adoption law
  • Attending legal planning, PLO, and Gateway meetings
  • Preparing for hearings and conducting advocacy in the Family Court
  • Drafting threshold documents


The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor, legal executive, or barrister with some exposure to care proceedings. They will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of childcare law and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
