About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our team at IG Medical. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional services.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake new patient health checks and provide accurate and timely results
- Support practice nurses with health promotion programs and deliver preventative care and health education to patients
- Carry out baseline observations, such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, and record findings accurately
- Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring and advise patients accordingly
- Undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required
- Support practice nurses with the management of chronic disease clinics
- Carry out BMI checks as directed
- Act as a chaperone as required
- Undertake venepuncture and administer flu vaccinations/B12 injections
- Carry out ear irrigation and ECGs as requested
- Deliver domiciliary services in the community
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
- Provide support during minor operations as required
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
- Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
- Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
- Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
- Use clinical system software for audit purposes

Person Specification
