Job Summary:

Conrad Consulting Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer - Apprentice to join our Building Structures team in Epsom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing conceptual solutions to problems through to detailed design, assisting in the execution of projects within defined design and cost parameters, and undertaking research, data collection, and presentation of information.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement structural design solutions for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to execute projects, providing support and guidance to junior team members.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to inform design decisions, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, site visits, and design team meetings, ensuring effective communication and project coordination.
  • Assist in the development and mentorship of apprentices and less experienced staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Graduate membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Membership (IStructE or ICE).
  • Proven experience in the design of structures using conventional engineering materials, such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry, to Eurocodes.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including Robot Structural Analysis and Revit.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to support client relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and work within other offices for periods of time.
  • Experience with parametric modeling software and software coding, such as Dynamo, Python, and C++, is desirable.
