Job Overview

The Marketing Strategic Development Manager at Sierra Nevada Corporation Mission Systems UK,LTD will be responsible for steering the strategic direction of our marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with our business objectives, and maximizing market opportunities. The Marketing Strategic Development Manager would work for the Growth Director within the Business Development team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Lead the development and implementation of long-term marketing strategies that align with Sierra Nevada Corporation Mission Systems UK,LTD's overall business goals.
    • Analyse market trends, competitive positioning, and customer behaviour to inform and refine strategic marketing decisions.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define marketing KPIs and track performance against targets.
    • Identify, coordinate and manage customer facing events in both the UK and internationally to enable effective support to Brand and specific capability programme campaigns.
  2. Brand Development:
    • Drive the creation and execution of brand positioning and messaging strategies that resonate with our target audiences.
    • Ensure consistency in brand identity and messaging across all marketing channels, both digital and traditional.
    • Innovate and execute brand-building initiatives to enhance brand equity and recognition.
  3. Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify growth opportunities, understand competitive landscapes, and forecast trends.
    • Utilise data analytics to gain insights into customer preferences, campaign effectiveness, and market dynamics.
    • Provide strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights to enhance marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  4. Campaign Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and assessment of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
    • Collaborate with creative, digital, and content teams to develop compelling campaigns that drive engagement and conversion for both social media and physical events.
    • Monitor campaign metrics, adjust strategies as needed, and report outcomes to key stakeholders.
  5. Budget Management:
    • Manage the marketing budget in conjunction with the Director of Growth, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet strategic objectives.
    • Monitor spending, forecast future budgetary needs, and ensure financial discipline within the marketing function.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product development, sales, and customer service teams to ensure that marketing strategies are aligned with product offerings and customer needs.
    • Act as a strategic partner across departments to ensure cohesive and integrated business strategies.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning as the team grows.
    • Provide strategic guidance to team members, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of marketing staff to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a strategic marketing role, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing marketing strategies.
  • Experience in a managerial role, leading teams and managing large-scale projects.
  • Prior experience in the Defence domain is valuable but not essential.
