Job Title: Safety, Health & Environmental Specialist

Organon is seeking a highly skilled Safety, Health & Environmental Specialist to join our SHE Team based at our world-class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.

This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of our Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) improvement targets and maintaining our site's current EHS management system. The successful candidate will provide daily SHE support and guidance to various site functions, including manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, quality control laboratories, facility management, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update SHE registers and procedures in line with company and legislative requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop suitable CAPAs in conjunction with site stakeholders.
  • Support operational risk assessments and maintain oversight of the risk assessment framework.
  • Develop and monitor key EHS metrics to drive our safety continual improvement processes.
  • Conduct SHE inspections, such as fire equipment, PPE, and RPE as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate EHS aspects of operations and practices, identify alternatives, and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in project teams to ensure appropriate EHS support during design, planning, installation, and construction as part of the management of change process.
  • Coordinate activities in response to site emergency alarms as part of the site emergency response plan.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in EHS management (NEBOSH General Certificate level or equivalent).
  • Degree in a Science-related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of a Professional Institute (e.g., IOSH, IEMA, IRM).
  • Relevant technical and operational knowledge (Pharma sector experience preferred).
  • Strong team working approach and well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
