Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist dietetic services to adult patients in the community. This will involve assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing and implementing personalized care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs, including medical history, dietary habits, and lifestyle factors.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans, taking into account patients' social, psychological, cognitive, behavioral, and cultural needs.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their carers, using highly developed communication and counseling skills.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Participate in audits, service evaluations, and continuous professional development activities to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or a relevant science subject, plus a postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Experience of pre-registration dietetic student training and training health professionals within a specialist area.
  • Advanced knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, including key board skills (word-processing, internet, data inputting, dietary analysis).
