Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented paralegal to join our Claims Against Public Authorities and Inquest department. The successful candidate will conduct supervised casework, support other lawyers, and be involved in case preparation, legal research, and client interactions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Exercise financial control over work carried out, ensuring billing targets are met.
- Ensure Quality Control compliance, dealing with non-compliance matters efficiently.
- Participate in marketing events to promote the department's growth and development.
- Draft legal documents, liaise with clients, and develop advocacy skills.
- Assist in dealing with complaints and audit enquiries.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as required by management.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- A strong academic record and relevant experience in legal aid and litigation.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with the Legal Aid Agency's online CCMS system.
- Legal skills, negotiation skills, and analytical skills.
- Good administrative skills, including document ordering and completion of legal aid/controlled work documentation.
