Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Practical Nurse to provide high-quality care to our residents in Scarborough. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver resident-centered care and promote a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Direct Care: Assist and support Registered Nurses and other members of the Interdisciplinary Resident Care Team in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care.
  • Lead and Mentor: Provide leadership and mentorship to non-regulated staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team: Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, medical staff, and other healthcare disciplines to meet the residents' health care needs.
  • Ensure Quality Care: Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Education and Research: Participate in education and research initiatives, staying up-to-date with best practices and contributing to the development of new knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Education: Possession of valid CPR (Health Care Provider Level C/Basic Life Support) and First Aid certificates.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
  • Skills: Ability to discern relevant information to make effective judgments and decisions to manage care, ability to work as a team leader, and proficiency in oral and written English.
