Job Description

Job Title: Support Assistant for Children with ADHD

Job Type: Temporary, Full-time

Location: Blackburn

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support Assistant to work closely with a child with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a mainstream school setting. The ideal candidate will have a specialism and experience in working alongside children with challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the child with ADHD
  • Develop and implement strategies to build self-confidence and improve behaviour
  • Work closely with the child's teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting the child's needs
  • Assist with the child's learning and development, including supporting with homework and other educational activities
  • Communicate effectively with the child's parents and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting the child's needs

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Good level of English and Maths (GCSE pass mark or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably on a 1:1 basis
  • Specialism and experience in working alongside children with challenging behaviour
