Project Management Consultant

Location: York

The role involves overseeing projects executed by the organization, ensuring comprehensive service delivery from initiation through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects both before and after contract signing across various sectors, including Housing, Education, and Local Government;
  • Adhere to internal quality standards and project management protocols, including reporting, change management, risk assessment, and approval processes;
  • Create project timelines and schedules utilizing Microsoft Project;
  • Manage financial aspects of assigned projects;
  • Take charge of significant project management assignments, ensuring all service delivery components are addressed;
  • Draft contracts for project commissions;
  • Ensure client goals are achieved, with projects delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards;
  • Provide services as Employer's Agent / Contract Administrator;
  • Coordinate the appointment of additional consultants and contractors as necessary;
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and relevant documentation;
  • Organize and, when necessary, lead meetings to facilitate successful project delivery;
  • Engage in Business Development and Marketing initiatives to foster company growth;
  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions;
  • Contribute to enhancing the company’s brand visibility through networking and online platforms;
  • Mentor junior and graduate staff across designated regions.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a construction-related organization;
  • A proven history of successfully managing projects within the construction sector;
  • Familiarity with Design & Build processes, warranties, and lease agreements;
  • Experience in team leadership;
  • Exceptional client-facing abilities;
  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire project lifecycle, from initial design concepts to final execution;
  • Proven experience in risk management and mitigation strategies;
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and analyze detailed reports and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field;
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development;
  • Candidates lacking formal qualifications but possessing a robust track record in a related field may also be considered;
  • A valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
