We are currently working in partnership with a prestigious higher education institution in the North-West, who are seeking a highly skilled locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a qualified Solicitor with experience working within the public sector, particularly in higher education.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in handling a broad range of work, including commercial contracts and procurement projects, charity law, regulatory/compliance matters, data protection, research projects, safeguarding, equality issues, and student-related matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the preparation, negotiation, and review of key commercial contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, research agreements, and consultancy agreements
  • Negotiating and drafting contracts in consultation with colleagues across Academic and Professional Services departments to support the teaching and research undertaken by the institution

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the public sector, preferably in higher education
  • Qualified Solicitor with a strong track record of managing high-value commercial contracts

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
