Job Duties:

The SEN Teaching Assistant at Ruislip will be responsible for supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities in the classroom. Duties include providing one-to-one assistance, implementing individual education plans, assisting with personal care when needed, and using communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and British Sign Language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in the classroom
  • Provide one-to-one assistance to students as needed
  • Implement individual education plans to support student learning
  • Assist with personal care when needed
  • Use communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and British Sign Language to support student communication
Requirements:
  • SEND Qualification preferred
  • Relevant educational background in Special Education or related field
  • Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs is preferred
  • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Active listening abilities
  • Proficiency in personal care
  • Familiarity with PECS, Makaton, and British Sign Language
Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a classroom setting with students with special needs. The candidate may need to provide personal care and support throughout the day.
