About the Role

This Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant position is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in a secondary school in Stockport. As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with challenging behaviour, ensuring they have the best possible chance of success both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in and out of the classroom to help them stay focused and engaged.
  • Assist teachers with planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to the needs of students.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, helping them develop coping strategies and manage their emotions.
  • Collaborate with the SEN department and other staff members to ensure that students receive the necessary interventions.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff members.
About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working with students with behavioural needs, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • A sound understanding of the strategies required to support students with challenging behaviour.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to effectively support and engage with students.
  • A proactive, resilient, and positive attitude towards behaviour management.
  • The ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
