About the Role

Jane Street is seeking a Financial Operations Associate to support our London and global Accounting teams in monitoring, reconciling, and processing expenditures. This role will also focus on identifying innovative approaches to enhance our existing financial operations and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the month-end closing activities by preparing reconciliations and analyses, recording accruals for unbilled expenses, and addressing discrepancies in the accounting system.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize invoice processing and payment workflows.
  • Working in tandem with team members, including our technology specialists, to refine processes and ensure alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Reviewing and adjusting expense reports for accuracy and completeness to comply with financial reporting and tax obligations, including recording entries for self-assessed VAT.
  • Providing support and guidance to colleagues regarding our policies and procedures for submitting expenses.
  • Managing the monthly corporate credit card process by liaising with cardholders and approvers, monitoring card balances, and ensuring timely payment of statements.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial operations or expense management.
  • Familiarity with prepaids, accruals, VAT, and their relevance within the financial operations landscape.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying process enhancements.
  • Organized self-starter with strong time management capabilities, thriving in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to foster collaborative relationships across various teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze data critically.
  • Experience in the financial services sector and knowledge of UK GAAP is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
