Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled Womenswear Purchasing Specialist to enhance our operations. The successful candidate will possess a deep passion for fashion, a refined sense of style, and outstanding aesthetic judgment.

The ideal applicant will have a solid understanding of brand dynamics, whether through personal shopping experiences or extensive research, and will be equipped to support our strategic vision.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating closely with the CEO, Production Managers, Buyers, Merchandisers, and Designers to lead the development of innovative and well-balanced product lines.
  • Ensuring the smooth flow of merchandise in and out of the organization, partnering with Operations and Marketing to guarantee timely and impactful product launches.
  • Communicating financial outcomes, forecasts, and strategic plans to the broader organization.
  • Utilizing the WSSI to inform and guide strategic decision-making.
  • Providing mentorship to junior team members, ensuring the efficient progression of the product development cycle while adhering to timelines and critical deadlines.
  • Translating relevant trends and fashion insights appropriately for our brand and clientele.
  • Offering significant input on product and competitor activities.
  • Adapting to shifts in demand and logistics.
  • Guaranteeing timely delivery of products to retail locations and warehouses both domestically and internationally for new launches.
  • Participating in trade shows and supplier visits as necessary.
  • Negotiating with current suppliers and sourcing new vendors as needed, while collaborating with fellow buyers to maintain a robust ethical supply chain.
  • Overseeing all visual merchandising to ensure alignment with our standards.
  • Continuously identifying growth opportunities within the product assortment.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field.
  • A profound understanding of Womenswear fashion, with insights into effective business growth strategies.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a comparable role, including merchandising experience.
  • Experience in visual merchandising for both online and retail environments is preferred.
  • Strong product selection abilities, combining data analysis with intuition to choose the right products for the right markets.
  • A solid analytical mindset, with demonstrated experience in analytical roles.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisive choices.
  • Capability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong relationship management capabilities.
  • Proven experience in building, leading, and managing teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, thriving in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
