Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Officer to join our team at Age UK East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality outreach support services to older adults with low-level support needs, enabling them to live independently within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outreach support services to older adults, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with statutory and voluntary sector agencies to ensure access to appropriate services.
  • Work closely with the Community Outreach team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Signpost individuals to relevant services, including group activities and community programs.
  • Collect and record monitoring information to evaluate the effectiveness of services.
  • Provide support to services outside of normal working hours, as required.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with marginalized groups and providing one-to-one support.
  • Ability to work in a trauma-informed manner and understand the impact of discrimination on individuals.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
  • Intermediate IT skills and ability to use word-processing software.
  • Commitment to learning and development, with a focus on reflective practice.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of £28,840 - £31,930, plus 5% employer pension contribution.
  • 25 days (pro-rata for contracted hours) of paid holiday per year, increasing to 30 days after five years of service.
  • A range of benefits, including a cycle to work scheme, employee assistance program, and death in service insurance.
