Key Responsibilities:

  1. Take responsibility for a child within the home/in the community, while working collaboratively with the team for the care and oversight of others.
  2. Follow each individual child or young person's care plan and contribute to their ongoing development.
  3. Administer medications to children and young people as required.
  4. Lead emergency interventions for young people as necessary.
  5. Assist with intimate and personal care for children and young people, including personal hygiene and bathing.
  6. Oversee the night staff team on duty, conducting supervisions and performance reviews as needed.
  7. Contribute to regular revisions of care plans as required.
  8. Complete and file all documentation by the end of the shift for each child or young person, including night reports.
  9. Discuss and report any concerns about the children or young people with senior staff.
  10. Adhere to the highest standards of Safeguarding Procedures, including completing body map forms as required.
  11. Ensure all belongings are returned to the child or young person at the end of the visit, if staying in the respite home.
  12. Maintain the workplace in a safe, clean, and tidy state, following tasks set in the Night staff file.
  13. Attend and participate in staff meetings, contributing to the team's efforts.
  14. Attend all mandatory training courses and take responsibility for your own learning and personal development.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role. You will also be required to hold or be willing to undertake a Children's Diploma Level 3. This role will involve working at Lawford Lodge (Young Adult Overnight Respite Home, Hamworthy) and Shapes domiciliary care service within a child's home (Poole/Christchurch).
