Position Overview

Join our dedicated pharmacy team focused on clinical trials.

Our department plays a crucial role in supporting the growing Research and Development initiatives across various sites. We manage a diverse array of drug studies that require the expertise of our pharmacy team.

Our involvement spans multiple clinical areas, including but not limited to ophthalmology, cardiology, gastroenterology, diabetes, and dermatology.

We are actively engaged in supporting the NIHR Royal Liverpool Clinical Research Facility, particularly in the execution of pioneering human studies.

Collaborating with external trial sponsors such as pharmaceutical firms, academic institutions, and local research organizations, we ensure the proper and safe handling of clinical trial medications.

Your role will include assisting in the management of trial medications, dispensing and labeling clinical trial drugs, maintaining drug accountability records, investigating discrepancies, and monitoring the temperature of storage areas for clinical trial medications across various sites.

You will also engage with external trial representatives during their site visits to discuss trial conduct.

Comprehensive training in our internal procedures and policies will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will support the pharmacy in facilitating the clinical trials activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with current regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

You will collaborate with the Clinical Trials & Pharmacy team to deliver an efficient, effective, and safe clinical trials service in alignment with departmental and organizational standards.

Your responsibilities will encompass the provision and enhancement of the clinical trials service, accurately dispensing Clinical Trial prescriptions in accordance with departmental and organizational standards, as well as adhering to Good Clinical Practice and Clinical Trial regulations.

Responsibilities Overview

Your specific duties will include:

  • Dispensing clinical trial prescriptions, ensuring all necessary accountability and documentation is completed
  • Receiving deliveries of clinical trial materials
  • Managing the storage of investigational medicinal products
  • Attending monitoring visits and following up on required actions
  • Overseeing the management of the generic trials email inbox

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant dispensing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Mathematics and English

Experience
