Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team in Hastings. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive, customized, and quality support to young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
  • Work in line with person-centered risk assessments, support plans, and liaise with support workers to ensure a smooth handover.
  • Observe any changes in behavior and document them, reporting changes in support needs to the team.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with young people, staff, and professionals by communicating effectively and actively seeking ways to improve the experience of young people in the service.
  • Ensure continuous support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff, with a particular focus on the safety of vulnerable individuals.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as the police and Emergency Duty Team (EDT), as needed.
  • Support young people who need to attend the hospital or police station.
Requirements
  • Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable.
  • Flexibility in availability, as the role will include weekend work.
  • Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to study towards this.
  • Be willing to travel, with a full driving license and access to a vehicle required.
  • Excellent computer skills.
