About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Children's OT team in Waltham Forest. As a Social Services Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality services to children and young people, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct home assessments to identify barriers to children and young people's participation in activities of daily living and develop solutions to address these barriers.
  • Work closely with the health OT team and the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver an excellent service and support children and young people to achieve their potential.
  • Attend the Major Adaptations Panel and have a clear understanding of policy and legislations governing social care provision.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support children and young people to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, paediatricians, community nurses, and CAMHS teams, to provide comprehensive care and support.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience of working in social care, with evidence of work responsibilities appropriate to the role.
  • 3 years post-graduate experience in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience of recommending home adaptations for access, independence, and safety.
