Job Title: Property & Commercial Underwriter

Location: Glasgow, Scotland & West Midlands

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Salary: £55,000

About the Role

We are seeking two senior underwriters to join our team in Glasgow and the Midlands. One role will focus on complex SME within the Property & Commercial team, and the other role will focus on complex casualty within the Liability & Construction team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for underwriting and account management, identifying new opportunities, and developing and implementing new schemes and rollover deals. They will also be responsible for mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues and carrying out broker meetings on behalf of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite complex risks and develop new business opportunities
  • Manage and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues
  • Carry out broker meetings and develop new schemes and rollover deals
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' Commercial Underwriting experience
  • Working towards professional qualifications
  • A well-rounded understanding of different product classes
Your Professional Attributes
  • Possess substantial knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Have the ability to underwrite complex risks
  • Display proven trading capability
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • IT competent, particularly with Microsoft Office applications
  • A desire to contribute valuable insights and aid in our company's evolution
