Job Description:

The Head of Service will lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality services to care leavers, ensuring that all aspects of the service meet the needs of young people transitioning out of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of service delivery professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to care leavers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service quality and outcomes for care leavers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and coordination.
  • Manage and promote change, considering options, assessing risk, and taking forward new initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and reports to ensure effective financial management.
  • Implement project management and operational activities to achieve service delivery goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, partner agencies, and community groups.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.

Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent and holds a recognised relevant professional qualification.
  • Direct Social Work Management & Supervision – Holds a Social Work professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Social Work post qualifying award desirable.
  • Willingness to undergo appropriate training as required.
