About the Role

Mace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Activity Review (FAR) engineer to join our team in Plymouth. As a FAR engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of a major upgrade of existing facilities within HMNB Devonport, working closely with our client, Babcock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination of operational aspects of system designs into an overall facility operational concept.
  • Coordinate and design spatial layout and process management aspects of facility by integrating system designs into an overall facility layout.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including user acceptance groups and design leads, to ensure operational aspects of system and facility designs are understood and accepted.
  • Ensure effective quality management arrangements, operate, and deliver through compliance with client business management systems and design & safety manuals.
  • Ensure that processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
  • Liaise with engineering and operational teams to identify activities to be assessed within functional activity reviews.
  • Organize and facilitate functional activity reviews to demonstrate that designed systems, when integrated, will meet functional user requirements.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in technical/design/document management throughout design/project lifecycle and have an appreciation and experience of construction design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post, and project requirements.
  • Be digitally savvy, able to build lasting client relationships, and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
  • Have experience in managing complex infrastructure or (preferably) aviation in a construction or consultancy background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
