Job Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to support the day-to-day running of our setting. Key responsibilities include managing and supervising children, supporting colleagues, and providing a stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years.

  • Support the day-to-day running of the setting
  • Manage and supervise children in the setting
  • Support colleagues and work as part of a team to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for all children
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning, development, and independence
  • Cleaning and following procedures required to maintain a healthy environment
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parent handovers and colleagues
  • Complete and keep up to date key children developmental records
  • Complete and keep up to date daily online care diary on Tapestry
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that Ofsted standards are followed at all times
  • Assist in the continuous improvement in childcare practices
  • Comply with Health and Safety at Work legislation
  • Attend ongoing training (in-house and courses) to support CPD
Requirements

We are looking for a practitioner with previous experience of working in a nursery setting and a good understanding of the EYFS, with a minimum relevant Level 3 qualification. Essential requirements include:

  • Previous experience of working in a nursery setting
  • Experience of working with the EYFS
  • IT proficient for writing reports/updating online journals
  • In-depth understanding of children's development and their emotional, physical, and intellectual needs
  • Physical fitness to lift and handle children and equipment
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional conduct

Qualifications and Experience

We require a Level 3 qualified in childcare, with experience of being a room leader desirable. Leadership skills to guide and support children effectively, proficiency in English to communicate with parents and staff, and previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting essential.

Pay and Schedule

The salary range is £20,000 - £30,000, and the schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm.

Education and Experience

GCSE or equivalent required, with nursery experience of 1-2 years required. A driving licence, Paediatric First Aid Certification, and DBS preferred.
