About the Role

The Chief Instructor is a key member of our Training Centre staff, responsible for delivering high-quality training to our Volunteers and Cadets. This is a full-time position that requires regular evening and weekend working, as well as frequent travel to other MSSC, Sea Cadet Corps, and National Support Centre facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and deliver face-to-face training for cadets and volunteers
  • Supervise delivery of courses by others and ensure adherence to National Governing Body standards
  • Assist the Centre Manager in ensuring safe and effective delivery of activities
  • Manage equipment and resources, including maintenance and allocation
  • Assist with administrative duties, including certificate issuance and record updates
Requirements
  • RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor qualification
  • RYA Powerboat Instructor qualification
  • Experience teaching in a classroom-based environment
  • Ability to plan, organise, and supervise training delivery
