About the Role

The Chief Instructor is a key member of the Training Centre staff, responsible for delivering high-quality training to cadets and volunteers. This is a full-time position that requires frequent travel to other MSSC facilities and the National Support Centre in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and deliver face-to-face training sessions for cadets and volunteers
  • Supervise the delivery of courses by others, ensuring adherence to National Governing Body standards and regulations
  • Assist the Centre Manager in ensuring the safe operation of the facility and the training of sessional instructors and volunteers
  • Manage the use, allocation, and maintenance of equipment and resources
  • Assist with administrative duties, including issuing certificates and updating records
Requirements
  • RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor qualification
  • RYA Powerboat Instructor qualification
  • Experience in teaching in a classroom-based environment
  • Ability to plan, organise, and supervise the delivery of training
