About the Role

We are seeking a recent Graduate Engineer to join our team as a Graduate Structural Engineer. As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for producing structural calculations and drawings in accordance with British Standard design codes, Eurocodes, Building Regulations, and Network Rail standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare structural engineering designs and drawings, specifications, reports, and general correspondence.
  • Liaise and communicate with the structures design team, other disciplines, and external clients.
  • Deliver work to agreed timeframes and specification.
  • Check structural calculations and drawings.
  • Liaise and communicate with external professionals.
  • Attend external meetings, representing the company, and undertake site inspections as required.
Requirements
  • You will be recently qualified with an appropriate degree within the built environment discipline and keen to progress with your professional qualifications with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), or similar professional body.
  • You will be of a strong mathematical mindset and have the ability to produce basic structural calculations and designs for basic structural members in steel, concrete, masonry, and/or timber.
  • Understanding of soil design would be ideal, and knowledge of foundation design.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively and professionally.
