Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Organic Materials Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of biodegradable polymers and their formulations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and conducting experiments to enhance the physical and chemical properties of innovative plant-based materials.
  • Creating detailed work plans for laboratory studies and project initiatives.
  • Analyzing experimental data and preparing comprehensive technical reports for stakeholders.
  • Regularly updating progress against project objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior scientists and laboratory staff.
  • Managing relationships with external research partners.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address technical challenges.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensuring the laboratory operates efficiently by coordinating staff schedules and project timelines.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline with a focus on organic polymer science.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a technical role within a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Strong expertise in organic chemistry and polymer science, including knowledge of biorefining and degradation mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques for material characterization.
  • Experience in leading R&D projects related to sustainable materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in MS Office.
