Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care with empathy and professionalism. Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team is essential, along with contributing to the clinical governance framework. The role includes mentoring and guiding junior staff, particularly focusing on pre-registration nursing students.

The individual will also assume delegated responsibilities for managing the clinical team and ensuring the maintenance of exceptional standards of patient care during shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Our specialized ward focuses on the medical care of older adults, accommodating 28 patients. We utilize a collaborative approach and are eager to welcome new team members who are interested in geriatric care and managing complex medical conditions.

A comprehensive induction and training program is in place to ensure our nurses receive the following:

  • Band 5 induction
  • Corporate and Clinical induction
  • Preceptorship and clinical skills training led by Practice-Based Educators
  • Administration of intravenous medications

Additionally, there will be opportunities to participate in leadership courses offered by the trust.
