Position Overview
Reporting to: Camp Leader for Ultimate Survival
Contract Type: Seasonal employment available during school holidays.
Working Hours: 8 AM - 6 PM on weekdays. Opportunities for full-time or part-time positions. Additional hours may be required on select evenings for special activities, with overtime compensation provided.
Role Summary
The Ultimate Survival Instructor is responsible for utilizing resources to conduct engaging and structured outdoor activities and workshops for children aged 7 to 14. You will lead groups through scheduled courses, emphasizing enjoyment, teamwork, and skill enhancement while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement activities for children aged 7-14, focusing on engagement, growth, and enjoyment, both independently and collaboratively with other staff.
- Inspire participation through enthusiasm, passion, and a positive attitude.
- Adhere to all camp policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations and safeguarding protocols.
- Assist in setting up the camp by participating in an induction program and help dismantle the site at the end of the season.
- Act as a group leader, providing support and care for children throughout the week while promoting their welfare and best interests.
- Supervise and interact with children during non-activity times, including sign-in/out periods and meal breaks.
- Embody the company’s commitment to 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and maintain professional conduct throughout your employment.
- Exhibit the necessary energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism throughout the season, serving as a role model for children.
- Perform additional tasks as needed, including cleaning and equipment maintenance.

Essential Qualifications
- Dynamic and energetic individual with a passion for working with children and fostering their development through adventurous activities.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in outdoor education, particularly in bushcraft, and working with children.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in leading groups of children.
- Adaptable team player, capable of navigating dynamic situations and challenges.
- Seeking a challenging yet rewarding role during school holidays, with opportunities for career advancement in outdoor education and childcare.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Preferably qualified or pursuing NGB certification in adventurous activities such as archery, bushcraft, or mountaineering.
- Experience in a similar camp environment, working with children aged 7 to 14.
- Current outdoor or pediatric first aid certification.
