Inventory Accounting Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to join a dynamic and growing medical manufacturing company as an Inventory Accounting Manager. The company has experienced significant growth in recent years and is now looking to bring its manufacturing/assembly function in-house, requiring an Inventory Accounting Manager to set up and take ownership of the process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Accounting and Valuation: Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, including valuation and reporting.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze and report on inventory management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize inventory levels.
  • Inventory Reporting: Provide regular inventory reports to stakeholders, including production, sales, logistics, and merchandising teams.
  • Process Implementation: Lead the implementation of new processes and methodologies for in-house production, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile inventory to accounts, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with production, sales, logistics, and merchandising teams to provide inventory insights and support valuations.
  • Inventory Control: Design, manage, and implement procedures and controls for inventory management and movement.
  • Aged and Obsolete Inventory: Manage aged, obsolete, or faulty inventory, ensuring accurate costing and accounting.
  • System Development: Develop and implement systems for accurate tracking, recording, and valuing of inventory.
  • Quarterly Audits: Conduct quarterly audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting: Support month- and year-end financial reporting, including statutory audits as required.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or QBE, or experience in an inventory role.
  • Inventory Experience: Experience working with inventory, understanding valuations, transfers, stock, etc.
  • Independence and Ownership: Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
  • Improvement Focus: Ability to identify areas for improvement and work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm and Drive: Enthusiastic and driven individual.
