Inventory Accounting Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to join a rapidly growing Oxford University spin-out in the medical manufacturing industry. The company is expanding its operations and requires an Inventory Accounting Manager to set up and manage its in-house inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inventory accounting and valuation processes
  • Analyse and report on inventory management, identifying areas for improvement
  • Provide information on inventory holdings and valuations across global warehouses
  • Lead the implementation of new processes and methodology for in-house production
  • Reconcile inventory to accounts, ensuring data integrity
  • Partner with Production, Sales, Logistics, and Merchandising teams to provide inventory reports and support valuations
  • Design and implement procedures and controls for inventory management and movement
  • Manage aged, obsolete, or faulty inventory, ensuring accurate costing and accounting
  • Develop systems for accurate tracking, recording, and valuing of inventory
  • Clear and audit inventory on a quarterly basis
  • Support month- and year-end financial reporting
  • Provide analysis for statutory audits, as required
Requirements:
  • Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or QBE, or experience in an Inventory role
  • Experience working with inventory, understanding valuations, transfers, and stock management
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and work in a fast-paced business
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and driven
