Job Summary

Mint Selection is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and manage the mechanical aspects of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Gas Peaking project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise mechanical construction activities, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead and oversee all mechanical construction activities on-site, including installation, testing, and commissioning of BESS and Gas Peaking equipment.
  • Manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is performed according to project specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of all project components.
  • Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Identify and rectify any defects or issues promptly to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and ensure all personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • CSCS certification.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a mechanical supervisory role within the energy sector, preferably on BESS or Gas Peaking projects.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale industrial or energy projects from construction through to commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
