Our state-of-the-art production and fermentation facility supports small batch production, allowing our cider makers to create both foundational ciders and distinctive single-variety blends.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the enhancement of production line processes through continuous improvement initiatives
- Expertly manage the fermentation, blending, and finishing processes, ensuring adherence to high production standards and quality assurance
- Employ analytical skills in the laboratory to produce superior quality products
- Adhere to current regulations regarding Health & Safety and Environmental Health
- Maintain accurate laboratory and production records regularly to comply with regulatory standards and best practices
- Assist in the logistical planning and execution of raw material requirements to align with the production schedule

What We Seek:
- Demonstrated technical expertise and hands-on experience in medium to large-scale commercial cider production, including fermentation processes and blending techniques.
- Practical experience and in-depth knowledge of laboratory practices and methodologies.
- Comprehensive understanding and practical experience in the application of biochemistry in cider production.
- A proactive team player, capable of integrating into a small cider team and the broader staff community.
- Confident and personable, able to engage with guests and the public during cider demonstrations, tours, tastings, and events.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining efficient production and laboratory records are essential.
Work Environment:
The Cider department encompasses two primary roles:
1) Crafting world-class, award-winning ciders
2) Delivering engaging apple pressing demonstrations integrated within the Visitor Attraction, weekly from spring to autumn.
The department is consistently open to guests, making interpersonal skills and high standards of cleanliness and presentation crucial. The team also conducts cider tours, tastings, orchard tours, and bespoke events for guests. Our cider cellar is technologically advanced and gaining recognition for producing some of the finest ciders in the UK, alongside apple juices.
